Youth Ministries Department Hosts Virtual Youth Week of Prayer

“Youth Week of Prayer” is an annual event in the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, which usually follows another annual event “Global Youth Day. Global Youth Day is a way for youth to physically get involved with the communities in which they live in, while the week of prayer aims to reignite the Christian character of the youth to shine where they are.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Youth Ministries Department of the Cayman Islands Conference of Seventh-day Adventists resorted to a virtual event, which allowed for a completely new experience for the young people. Each session of the week of prayer saw persons gathered on zoom to have their own “week of prayer watch party” which was then followed by active discussions which allowed immediate feedback and any questions that may have come up.

The theme was “The Embrace: Forgiveness and Reconciliation” which spoke to the Forgiveness process and what happens at each stage and how the young people can identify but also execute it themselves. Each session had youth presenters except for the opening session, which was done by the Youth Ministries Director, Pastor Carlon Nyack.
