“Are we to wait until the fulfilment of the prophecies of the end before we say anything concerning them? Of what value will our words be then? Shall we wait until God’s judgments fall upon the transgressor before we tell him how to avoid them? Testimonies for the Church, vol. 9 pg.20.1”
The Christian life is a life of sharing. Those who have turned to Christ in repentance and faith are also called to share what he has done for them. But sometimes, sharing Christ can be intimidating and for no apparent reason. However, would you feel more inclined to share Christ if you had the relevant training? At this year’s Adventist-Laymen’s Services and Industries (ASi) convention (held virtually), several leaders highlighted the role that members can play in taking God’s message to the people who need it. So the question is, “Are there people living in the Cayman Islands who need to hear the message of Jesus?” Of course there are! And it is our responsibility to take the message to them. Now it’s time to introduce “The 3AM Call.”
“The 3AM Call,” is a website that seeks to activate members to be trained and willing to share God’s message with those around them. The website, which incorporates the three angels’ message name, includes resources to train and help lay members who are willing to get involved. Lack of training can lead to fear and uncertainty which can stop us from taking action. But here is the perfect opportunity for us (members) to get the help we need to find it easy to share Jesus with our neighbours and friends. The website is simple to use and has only 4 steps.
Step 1: Register as a 3AM Missionary
Step 2: Learn which model best fits your spiritual gifts
Step 3: Take the relevant class and download the resources
Step 4: Launch your 3 AM Missionary project
In a conversation with Fenslie Smith, President, ASi Cayman Islands, he revealed “ASi exists as an auxiliary arm of the Seventh-day Adventist Church that works hand in hand with the local conference to spread the gospel. ASi enlists Seventh-day Adventist laypersons in soul-winning endeavours to reach people in their workplaces, through their businesses and generally in the community. The method is to be close to the people by personal effort, which makes the ministry very personal. Through this unique ministry, accompanied by the power of persuasion, prayer, and the love of God, most of the people the ASi membership has reached with the gospel are typically off-limits to the clergy or are difficult for them to get around”.
Christ says of His people: “Ye are the light of the world.” Matthew 5:14. It is not a small matter that the counsels and plans of God have been so clearly opened to us. It is a wonderful privilege to be able to understand the will of God as revealed in the sure word of prophecy. This places on us a heavy responsibility. God expects us to impart to others the knowledge that He has given us. It is His purpose that divine and human instrumentalities shall unite in the proclamation of the warning message. Testimonies for the Church, vol. 9 pg.19.3
“We have come to live in an unprecedented time around the world as movements are restricted, borders of countries, churches and other buildings are closed, and many businesses are either shut down or operating at low capacities. It is because of this that ASi is leveraging the internet and multimedia platforms to continue the great commission given to us by Christ. ( Matthew 28: 19-20) Being a 3AM Missionary is an invitation for you to actively be a part of helping to spread the gospel so that individuals who haven’t found Christ as yet will hear about him, know him and experience his saving Grace”. Fenslie Smith, President, ASi Cayman Islands.
At this moment in time our world is desperately searching for answers. Answers that we have and know they will not find anywhere else until they meet Jesus. The challenge is, if we don’t reach out to those seeking they may end up finding answers that lead them in the wrong direction and we can’t afford for this to happen! So let’s saddle up and register as a 3AM Missionary.
