Two New Elders and Deacons Ordained at Filadelfia Church

Filadelfia Seventh-Day Adventist Church holds special ordination service.

The Filadelfia Seventh-Day Adventist Church ordained two Elders, Eddie Bennett and Percy Godoy, and two Deacons, Brent Powery and Clive Eden, on February 24, 2024.

The service was led by Pastor Carlon Nyack, Executive Secretary of the Cayman Islands Conference of Seventh-day Adventists and Filadelfia’s church pastor. Pastor Nyack also had support from recently retired former President of the Conference, Pastor Reinaldo Dracket, along with ordained elders and deacons.

Throughout the service, the responsibilities of the newly ordained Elders and Deacons were emphasized, with Pastor Nyack delivering a message from the Word of God. Drawing inspiration from Numbers 11:16-17, he conveyed the importance of the ordinands bearing the burdens of the ministry together. Pastor Nyack stressed the need for them to be “men of good reputation, full of the Holy Spirit and wisdom,” as outlined in Acts 6:3.

Elder Pedro Calzado, Head Elder, shared brief biographies of Eddie Bennett and Clive Eden, while Elder Ramon Martinez highlighted the life stories of Percy Godoy and Brent Powery. Pastor Dracket offered a special prayer of consecration for the ordinands, seeking God’s blessing, guidance, and the full control of the Holy Spirit over their lives and families as they dedicated themselves to service.

The ordination service marked a high Sabbath for Filadelfia Church, witnessing the consecration of these four men and their families for service. Committed to answering the Lord’s call with a resounding “I will go,” they are ready to serve God, the church, and the community. Their mission is clear – to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ and prepare people for His second coming.
