Source of Grace – The Munches

“Out of his fullness we have all received grace in place of grace already given. For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.” John 1:16-17 (NIV).

Have you ever had a secret admirer before? Can I tell you that you have a secret admirer right now? But who is a secret admirer? A secret admirer is an individual who feels adoration, fondness or love for another person. Usually, without disclosing his or her identity to that person, and who may send gifts or love letters.

When I was in middle school, I had a secret admirer who would send me little notes and gifts through a random friend. But because her friend was quite cute, the friend became my first girlfriend. In my innocence, I never knew that the gifts and notes were from someone else. That was young puppy love, of course, thank God I grew up!

But can I tell you that someone has been admiring you from the time you were in your mother’s womb! But maybe he isn’t a true secret admirer. The thing is, just like I didn’t know, we sometimes don’t understand that this Admirer adores us, and showers us with gifts and favour that we sometimes don’t even deserve! Gifts like clothes, food and a place to crash at night. Gifts like friends, or your husband, wife or kids. Gifts like data on your phone or internet at home so that you can watch the Munches! Sometimes we take all of these things for granted, and we don’t recognize it’s coming from this Secret Admirer!

John tells us that the WORD, who is God, came to this earth to reveal to us the Father and that He is FULL of GRACE and truth! (John 1:14 NIV). John 1:16-17 NIV says  16 From the fullness of his grace we have all received one blessing after another. 17 For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.

God the Father, through Jesus, is your NOT so Secret Admirer! Jesus has been admiring you for a long time! He is the real source of grace. Jesus gives us grace upon grace, blessing after blessing! Will you open your heart and allow Him to pour His continual amazing grace and blessing in your life today?

Prayer: Father thank you that Jesus came to reveal who you are and He came to give us grace upon grace! Help us to learn to count all the unmerited blessings that you give us everyday and share them with someone today, In Jesus name. Amen
