The Pathfinder Club, or simply Pathfinders, is a department of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, which works specifically with the cultural, social and religious education of children and teens. Boys and girls, ranging from 10 years and up, are members of the club all over the world.
Though similar in many respects to Scouts, Pathfinders have a stronger spiritual emphasis on all of their activities. The Pathfinder Club has been an official component of the Youth Ministry of the Seventh-day Adventist Church since 1960.
The Youth Department hosted a community 5K Run/Walk for the youth of the Cayman Islands on 8 March 2020. The event marked the 70th Anniversary of the Pathfinders Worldwide and the 60th Anniversary in the Cayman Islands.
It is so delightful to know that there are still individuals in our community that were a part of the initial Pathfinder movement such as Donalee Tatum, Dorinda Green, McDorn & Nancy Frederick, McFord McClean, and Barbara Welcome.

Youth Director, Pastor Carlon Nyack; Maria Blancord, third-place winner
The event started at the South Sound dock at 6:30 a.m. and ended at the Smith’s Cove Public Beach. Most of the participants were joyful and excited as they supported their families and friends. The registrants who completed their run or walked receive medals for their tremendous efforts. Fruits and water were served to hydrate and energise participants. The first-place winner of the 5K Run/Walk was Ronaldo Godoy; second place went to Maria Leone; and third place to Maria Blancord.
