Pathfinders at Annual National Heroes Day Celebration

This year’s National Heroes Day celebration was in honour of the vestrymen and justices of the peace who were instrumental in the creation of the Cayman Islands’ Coat of Arms. The ceremony was decorated with Union flags strung side by side with Cayman flags and various uniformed groups. As with previous years, the celebration saw a detachment of our Pathfinder Club, who stood on parade among organizations such as the Royal Island Police Band, the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service, the Cayman Islands Fire Service, and a detachment of the Cub Scouts.

Last year the celebrations featured awards being presented to organizations who have made contributions to the Coat of Arms since its development 60 years ago. From the religious sector, the Cayman Islands Conference of Seventh-day Adventists was awarded for serving in the Cayman Islands for over 50 years, an impressive feat for conference executives.
