The Newlands Seventh-day Adventist Church recently concluded its highly anticipated Prophecy Seminar, a transformative event that left attendees in awe. Led by Pastor John E. Wesley, the seminar took place from October 15th to 28th, 2023.
During the two-week event, Pastor Wesley delivered a simple yet profound message of the prophetic gospel, leaving an indelible impact on the congregation. His teachings and sermons resonated deeply with those in attendance.
As the seminar drew to a close on October 28th, there was much cause for celebration and gratitude within the church community. A total of 15 new converts decided to join the Newlands church, further bolstering the congregation’s spiritual strength. This remarkable development brings the total number of baptisms for the church to 18 souls for the year, a testament to the transformative power of the Prophecy Seminar and the dedication of its leaders.
One particularly inspiring story comes from Ms Roma Rojas, who travelled all the way from New Jersey in the United States to be baptized in the Prophecy Seminar. Ms. Rojas’s journey to faith began with her participation in the Daniel and Revelation Seminar hosted by the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Bodden Town in November 2022. Subsequent studies led by Pastor Wesley deepened her understanding of prophecy, ultimately leading her to give her life to Christ. Her dedication to her faith and her willingness to travel great distances to be baptized exemplify the commitment of the newly converted and their dedication to the Adventist faith.
Pastor Wesley, who has been an evangelist for many years, expressed his joy and gratitude for the successful conclusion of the seminar. He recalled his first campaign at the Newland’s Church decades ago when he baptized three individuals. Reflecting on this experience, he encourages lay members to get involved in their respective communities, emphasizing the significant impact total church member involvement can have in inviting friends and bringing others to Christ.
The Newlands Seventh-day Adventist Church looks forward to the continued spiritual growth and community involvement of its new members. With the addition of these 15 new converts, the church continues to grow and make a lasting impact on the lives of those who seek a deeper understanding of Jesus and a stronger connection to their faith.
