Elder Joshua Lawrence, Bible Instructor for the Cayman Islands Conference of Seventh-day Adventists, Evangelist and First Elder of the Berea Seventh-day Adventist Church, was recently awarded “Outstanding Lay Evangelist for the Atlantic Caribbean Union”. The award was given when Joshua, Pastor Kevin Danvers, and Elder Racine Smith attended the Inter-American Division’s (IAD) Festival of the Laity held in Panama.
Joshua has worked with the Cayman Islands Conference as a Bible Instructor for the past ten years. In addition, he has conducted several evangelistic series, which have influenced several individuals to commit their hearts to Christ.
In dialogue with Joshua on the recent award, he said, “I am humbled to receive this award. And while it is a great feeling, it points me to think of the great prize that awaits all who are faithful to the work of God. More so, when God himself will present a crown of life and welcome us into his kingdom. Until then, I will continue to do my part through Bible Studies and preaching the Word of God so the world may hear about Him and persons would accept Him as the Saviour he is”.
Using the theme “His Light Prevails,” the festival drew hundreds of outstanding laypersons and church administrators for a three-day event in Panama City. Panama City was one of the sites once home to the IAD headquarters decades ago.
The Cayman Islands Conference of Seventh-day Adventists would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Elder Joshua Lawrence on his recent award and encourage him to keep working to win souls for God’s Kingdom.
