Cayman Academy Educators Renew Commitment to Holistic Education

Over thirty teachers, including a new addition to the teaching staff, participated in a series of professional development seminars at Cayman Academy during the week of August 19-22, 2024. These sessions were focused on enhancing teaching methods, learning strategies, and customer service within the school.

Adventist teachers are deeply committed to this mission, dedicating themselves not only to imparting knowledge but also to fostering a dynamic, Christ-centered environment where students can grow spiritually, morally, and intellectually. By focusing on character development and the discovery of each student’s unique God-given talents, these educators empower students to fulfill their potential and make a meaningful impact in the world, guided by faith and values.

The week concluded on Friday, August 23, 2024, with a consecration service, where Pastor Kevin Danvers delivered an inspiring charge to the staff. From the onset of the week’s activities, it was clear that both the administrative team and faculty were eager to continue offering a Christ-centered education. As they prepare for the upcoming school year under the theme “Moving by Faith, Reflecting Christ,” the sounds of heartfelt singing and prayer resonated from the school’s auditorium, signifying their renewed commitment to the mission ahead. Pastor Danvers, along with outgoing Parent Teachers Association (PTA) president Mrs. Camille Beckford-Johnson, encouraged the staff to persevere, keep moving forward, and let their lives reflect the teachings of Christ in their interactions with parents, students, and each other.

Cayman Academy reopened with orientation for new students on Tuesday, August 26, 2024, and for returning students on Wednesday, August 27, 2024. The school remains dedicated to providing excellent service and a quality Christian education to all its students. Adventist education is vital because it offers a holistic approach to learning that nurtures both the mind and spirit, emphasizing the development of character alongside academic excellence.
