The Cayman Islands Conference of Seventh-day Adventists would like to announce the appointment of Korie Drummond as the new Children and Adolescent Ministries Director for the remainder of the current quadrennium, which concludes in early 2027.
This appointment was voted by the Executive Committee on March 10, 2026, and reflects the Conference’s continued commitment to nurturing the spiritual growth and development of children and adolescents across our churches.
A Heart for Children and Young People
Korie has been a dedicated member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church since 2008, with a genuine love for serving children and young people. She is passionate about helping children grow in their relationship with God while making church life fun, engaging, and meaningful.
Now serving as Director of Children and Adolescent Ministries for the Seventh-day Adventist Conference, Korie brings energy, creativity, and a caring heart to this important role. She is always looking for ways to keep children and teens excited about learning and living God’s principles.
A Record of Faithful Service
Korie has been a member of the Filadelfia Seventh-day Adventist Church since 2008 and has been involved in children’s ministries since that time. She has served as CHAMS Director, helping to shape programs that support children’s spiritual and personal growth.
She also serves as a Sabbath School Primary Class Teacher, where she enjoys connecting with children and bringing Bible stories to life in ways they can understand and enjoy.
For the past 8 years, Korie has also been involved with the Emanuel Pathfinder Club, including recently serving as Treasurer of the Club. In addition, she contributes as an Adventurer Teacher, helping guide younger children as they learn important values, develop new skills, and build their faith.
Beyond her ministry with children, Korie previously served as Treasurer of the Filadelfia Church, offering faithful and dependable service in church leadership.
Grounded in Faith
Grounded in Faith
Korie believes that working with children is both a great responsibility and a deeply rewarding calling. She is encouraged daily by God’s promises, especially the reminder in
Matthew 18:3 of the importance of having a childlike heart. She also draws strength from Philippians 4:13: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
With a warm and approachable spirit, Korie is committed to supporting children and adolescents as they grow, serve, and build a strong foundation in their faith.
Appreciation and Prayerful Support
We also express heartfelt appreciation for the dedicated service that Melissa Goddard (née Smith), out-going Children and Adolescent Ministries Director has given to strengthen the Children’s Ministries Department over the years and for the strong foundation laid on which this ministry continues to build.
We invite our church family to keep Korie in prayer as she steps into this role. May God continue to guide, empower, and bless her leadership as she serves the children and adolescents of our Conference.
