Adventist Youth Shine in Cayman’s Annual ‘Proud of Them’ Recognition

February 2, 2021 | George Town, Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands | Pastor Carlon Nyack, Youth Director, Cayman Islands Conference |

‘Proud of Them’ is an initiative from the Ministry of Education, Youth, Sports, Agriculture, and Lands that seeks to publicly recognise the positive achievements of young people of the Cayman Islands in various areas. Each individual selected is featured for twelve (12) months on billboards established across the Cayman Islands. They are based on nominations for young people between the ages of 10 and 25 in Academics, Careers, Business, Sports, Culture, or Community Service. [1]

As the Youth Ministries Department of the Cayman Islands Conference, we want to highlight that over the years since its inception in 2013, almost every year, at least 1 Adventist youth was highlighted and featured in this ‘Proud of Them; initiative.

We give all the honour and glory to God for our amazing young people as they excel and develop their lives for the future!

We also recognise and cling to this Biblical promise for our youth when they put God first. Deuteronomy 28:13 NKJV –

13 And the Lord will make you the head and not the tail; you shall be above only, and not be beneath, if you heed the commandments of the Lord your God, which I command you today, and are careful to observe them.

Please help me recognise and appreciate some (this may not reflect a complete list) of our outstanding youth who are connected with the Adventist Church and have been Honorees in the Proud of Them initiative over the years in the Cayman Islands:

We Praise God and celebrate the amazing accomplishments of our brilliant youth in the Cayman Islands Conference, and we pray that God will continue to bless and give them success in all of their future endeavours!

We encourage all our youth to dream big dreams (Isaiah 55:8-9), to be an example (1 Tim. 4:12) to inspire other youth to aim high, to put God first (Mat. 6:33) and to trust Him to lead the way (Prov. 3:5-6)! May God continue to bless the youth of the Cayman Islands!
