Adventist Social Workers receive Awards

On March 26, 2021, the Department of Children and Family Services of the Cayman Islands Government held its annual Awards Ceremony at the Grand Cayman Marriott Beach Resort. Two members of the Cayman Islands Conference of Seventh-day Adventists received awards during the ceremony. Mrs. Marjorie Whittaker of the Filadelfia Adventist Church received an award for the Outstanding Team Member of the Year of the Multi-Agency Support Hub (MASH), and Mrs. Kernita Bailey of the Bodden Town Adventist Church received awards for the Outstanding Team Member of the Year for the Family Services Team and the Joyce Hylton Award for Social Worker of the Year.

Social Workers emulate Jesus’ life by demonstrating compassion and working to enhance persons’ lives experiencing challenges.

They are responsible for child abuse and neglect investigations, adoptions, preparation of welfare (custody) reports for the court, provision of intervention to children, adolescents, older persons, families in crisis, and placement of children in need of care outside of their family. May God be praised for His blessing to Sisters Whittaker and Bailey. – Communication Department, Cayman Islands Conference.
